Description
The Government of Canada is committed to supporting people with disabilities and is putting a framework in place to systematically identify, remove, and prevent barriers to accessibility. With the implementation of the Accessible Canada Act and the Accessible Canada Regulations, federally regulated entities, including all federal departments and agencies, will be required to publish their accessibility plans before the end of 2022.
The success of accessibility planning in the federal public service will depend on each organization's ability to engage with people with disabilities in a meaningful way. The "Nothing without us" principle that is part of the Accessibility Strategy for the Public Service of Canada reflects the key role that people with disabilities play in the identification, prevention, and removal of barriers.
Join this event for an interactive discussion on how to work better with people with disabilities in co-designing accessibility plans. Panellists will also share strategies they have used to advance accessibility priorities within their organization. The event is presented by the Canada School of Public Service in partnership with the Office of Public Service Accessibility.
