Michelle Fortier began her career in the public service in the 1980s, as a language training teacher at the Public Service Commission in Winnipeg. Over the next 25 years, she held a variety of roles in language and vocational training and in human resources as a supervisor, manager and director at the Canada School of Public Service, the Public Service Commission and Veterans Affairs Canada. Among her achievements, she is proud to have contributed to the creation of the first partnerships with universities and to the development of the national standing offer for the provision of language training services to public servants.

Her passion for learning and andragogy motivated her to return to her roots at the Canada School of Public Service, where she has held the role of course facilitator since 2019.
